Brontex 15mg/5 ml syrup Facilitate an expectorant in patients with acute and chronic bronchus and lung disease which cause prejudice to the continuation of secretion.
Brontex contains Ambroxol hydrochloride which is systemically active mucolytic agent. Ambroxol belongs to the mucolytic group of medicines. This medicine works by helping to break down the structure of mucus in the lungs and therefore facilitates expectoration.
It is used to treat acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by an increased mucus production.
Ingredient: 1 ml of syrup contains 3 mg of Ambroxol Hydrochlodride. Other helpful substances: Sorbitol.
Dosage:
•Children below the age of 2: 2.5 ml of syrup 2 times per day (equivalent to 15 mg Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).
•Children aged 2-5 years: 2.5 ml of syrup 3 times per day (equivalent to 12.5 mg Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).
•Children aged 6-12 years: 5 ml of syrup 3 times per day (equivalent to 30 – 45 mg Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).
•Adults and children above the age of 12: First 2 - 3 days – 10 ml of syrup 3 times per day (equivalent to 90 mg Ambroxoli hydrochloridum). Then – 10 ml of syrup 2 times per day (equivalent to 60 mg Ambroxoli hydrochloridum).
The syrup should be taken after a meal with a glass of liquid. The duration of treatment is administred by your doctor. Brontex syrup should not be used for more than 4-5 days.
